Composite Samplers
Samplers need to be routinely calibrated to make sure that when it takes a sample it is taking the proper sample size. Sampler maintenance is also a key factor in making sure the sample size stays consistent. The suction hose needs to be checked to make sure the inlet is not clogged and the hose is free of debris.
If the debris in the suction hose is consistently building up then ending up in your sample you could be getting charged for higher solids in your wastewater discharge. The peristaltic pump house needs to be routinely changed at a certain pump revolution counts to make sure the tube does not fail and prevent the sampler from taking its proper samples.
The last thing that is very important when changing out the pump tubing is to make sure the pump rollers are cleaned each time the tubing is changed out. The build up on the rollers can cause premature tubing failure.
