Our Instrument Calibration Processes

Every instrument is different and there's a number of processes that we can utilize to properly calibration your instrument.

Differential Pressure Transmitters and Gauge Pressure Transmitter Calibration Process

We can calibrate pressure transmitters from 14.7 PSI Vacuum to 10000 PSI. We use pressure pumps with calibrated gauges or a deadweight tester. We safely isolate your field device and bleed out any process fluid and then perform a five point calibration to ensure your instrument is accurate throughout its design process range.

Bubbler Flow Meter Calibration Process

Calibrating your bubbler flow is done by first recording your flow totalizing numbers before disconnecting your bubble tube. After all the information is documented we disconnect your bubble tube and using our water column we can simulate a water depth. We simulate 5 different water depths and check the flow reading and verify your flow totalizer is working properly.

Thermocouple and RTD Verification and Calibration

Testing thermocouples and RTD are done by heating the device up to 5 different points using a dry block calibrator and measuring your device with our fluke 724 process calibrator. We record the information and adjust the device if possible. If not we will replace the device if it fails the 5 point calibration.

Temperature Transmitter Calibration

Temperature Transmitters are calibrated using a fluke 724 process meter and druck mA meter. We verify the instrument is reading accurately and transmitting a proper signal at 5 points and can also verify the values on your scada system or recording device.

Composite Samplers

Samplers need to be routinely calibrated to make sure that when it takes a sample it is taking the proper sample size. Sampler maintenance is also a key factor in making sure the sample size stays consistent. The suction hose needs to be checked to make sure the inlet is not clogged and the hose is free of debris.

If the debris in the suction hose is consistently building up then ending up in your sample you could be getting charged for higher solids in your wastewater discharge. The peristaltic pump house needs to be routinely changed at a certain pump revolution counts to make sure the tube does not fail and prevent the sampler from taking its proper samples.

The last thing that is very important when changing out the pump tubing is to make sure the pump rollers are cleaned each time the tubing is changed out. The build up on the rollers can cause premature tubing failure.

Chart Recorders

Whether you have a pen chart recorder or a digital chart recorder we can calibrate and verify the information that is being recorded is accurate and being recorded properly. Whether your Chart recorder has a mA, Voltage, thermocouple or RTD input we can test and service your recorder. We can also upgrade your old pen style chart recorder to a newer digital style if you would like to transition to electronic record keeping.

Ultrasonic Flow Meter Calibration Process

Calibrating your ultrasonic flow meter is done by first recording your flow totalizing numbers before disconnecting your transducer. After all the information is documented we disconnect your transducer and using our test stand we can simulate a water depth. We simulate 5 different depths and check the flow reading and verify your flow totalizer is working properly.
